Welcome to the virtual home for the Honey Bees and Heather Farm, our lovely eight acre homestead in the Blue Ridge Mountains midway between Asheville and Hendersonville, North Carolina. The Farm includes: · An Apiary with 16 bee hives (plus a small yard in Jackson County) · A four year old established Hillside Heather Garden featuring 300 plants of more than 70 varieties. · A Heather Demonstration/Propagating Area. · A Pollination Garden encircling the bee yard that features 50 different plants (many native to the area) — lovely examples of year-round nectar and pollen sources for our honey bees and native pollinators. · A Propagation Garden/Nursery where plants for our Winter and Spring Plant Sales are lovingly tended. · The Woodland Gardens filled with fascinating shade-loving plants including ferns, hostas, hellebores, a collection of heucheras and wildflowers providing year round interest. · The Blueberry Patch with 25 Northern Highbush, Rabbiteye and Southern Highbush varieties on trial. We enjoy a bounty of scrumptious blueberries from late June till early October.
